Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification
Candidates must hold an MBBS or BDS degree from any institute recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). Priority will be given to candidates holding MSPH, MPH, or FETP qualifications. Permanent PMDC registration with Post-Graduate qualification mentioned therein will be considered as an additional advantage.
Experience Requirements
Candidates with post-graduate qualifications and relevant public health or disease surveillance experience will be given preference during the selection process.

Candidates from all over Balochistan are eligible to apply for these positions.

The age limit shall be in accordance with the current policy of the Government of Balochistan.
Job Description — Disease Surveillance Officer (DSO)
The District Surveillance Officer (DSO) shall lead, coordinate, and supervise all surveillance activities within the respective district. The DSO shall serve as the focal person and will be accountable for surveillance data management and outbreak response. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and strengthening the district surveillance system.
- Conducting active case searches and promoting community engagement.
- Leading the investigation and response to alerts and outbreaks.
- Managing case line-listing, data compilation, and timely reporting.
- Ensuring achievement of specific and measurable targets related to surveillance sensitivity, timeliness, and completeness.
Salary Information
Selected candidates shall receive pay in the respective BPS-17 basic pay scale along with admissible allowances as per Government of Balochistan rules applicable to contractual staff.

Important Instructions / Terms and Conditions
- Age limit shall be in accordance with current Government of Balochistan policy.

- Appointment shall be purely on contractual basis and shall not be regularized under any circumstances. However, contract may be extended subject to satisfactory performance certified by the concerned DDO.
- Government, semi-government, and autonomous body employees must apply through proper channel and provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their parent department at the time of interview.
- Number of posts may be increased or decreased at any stage of the recruitment process.
- No TA/DA shall be admissible for appearing in the interview.
- Selection shall be made purely on merit based on the recommendations of the Selection Committee.
- Any form of canvassing will result in disqualification.
- Candidates who have been dismissed or terminated from any government or private service on disciplinary grounds, moral turpitude, or criminal offense are not eligible to apply.
