The Special Education Department of the Government of Punjab runs special education institutions across the province for children with hearing impairment, visual impairment, mental challenges and physical disabilities. Its Directorate General in Lahore oversees government special education centres and schools, and hires School Teaching Interns (STIs) against vacant teaching posts under the department’s STI policy.
