Key Responsibilities
As an AI Engineer Design Specialist, you will be bridging the gap between complex engineering principles and AI model training. Your tasks will include:
- Designing and validating simulation-based engineering problems that require true design reasoning, clear constraints, and optimization goals.
- Delivering complete problem sets, including reference solutions, near-miss variants, edge cases, and comprehensive documentation.
- Ensuring appropriate problem difficulty with multiple failure modes.
- Collaborating with AI researchers to refine design problems based on model performance.
Domain Tracks
Candidates must have deep design expertise in at least one of the following domains (expertise spanning multiple tracks is a strong plus):
- Electrical & Computer Engineering: Analog/mixed-signal IC design, power electronics, RF/microwave, digital system design, FPGA/ASIC, embedded systems.
- Mechanical Engineering: Structural/thermal/fluid system design, mechanism design, HVAC, vibration/dynamics, manufacturing process design.
- Chemical Engineering: Reactor design, process optimization, separation systems, transport phenomena, thermochemistry.
- Control Systems: Classical/modern control design, state estimation, nonlinear and robust control.
- Aerospace & Robotics: Aerodynamic design, propulsion sizing, orbital mechanics, kinematic/dynamic design, motion planning, mechatronic system integration.
- Other Tracks: Materials/Nano, Engineering Physics/Optics, Civil/Structural Engineering, Nuclear/Energy, and Systems Engineering.
Required Qualifications & Skills

- Proficiency in at least one open-source simulation tool relevant to your domain.
- Strong Python (or equivalent) scripting skills.
- High attention to detail across units, boundary conditions, convergence, and physical realism.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing engineering coursework, exam problems, or design challenges at the graduate level.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or automated testing frameworks.
- Exposure to LLM evaluation, AI benchmarking, or training data curation.
- Cross-domain familiarity.
How to Apply
If you possess the deep technical expertise required to challenge and train next-generation AI models, apply by submitting your updated CV and portfolio/GitHub highlighting your scripting and simulation experience directly to CodeByte’s recruitment portal.
