The Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions, under the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), Government of Pakistan, has officially announced a high-level career opportunity for a Legal Advisor. This specialized role is offered on a contract basis for an initial period of two years, which may be extended based on performance and departmental requirements.

The Ministry is seeking a visionary professional with a sound grip on industry issues and innovative, out-of-the-box thinking to provide critical policy input for the Directorate General (LG). Key Professional Requirements:

  • Education: Masters or equivalent in Law from an HEC recognized institute. Candidates with foreign qualifications in Petroleum Laws, Policy, and Contracts will be preferred.

  • Experience: At least 07 years of experience in in-house practice, a law firm, or a major industrial group. Expertise in international energy transactions, LNG/LPG business, and supply chain is highly desirable.

  • Legal Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the legal framework in Pakistan’s Petroleum Sector, including petroleum laws, rules, policies, and the latest amendments.

  • Litigation: Success in dealing with local and international arbitration cases, preferably within the petroleum sector.

  • License: Must possess a valid license to plead cases on behalf of the Petroleum Division in the High Courts of Pakistan.
